7 killed, 56 hurt in Klong San Sap boat crash

Bangkok: Seven people died and fifty-six people hurt from boat crash in Klong San Sap due to the intoxication of one of the boat drivers yesterday.

The boat driver, Nipon Udomluk , confessed after recover from intoxication that I was broken-hearted for 2 days. Today, I could not stand anymore but I had to work. I wanted to forget about her. Therefore, I drank a little bit in the morning but in the afternoon, I drank too much. I felt better and relax. Then, I could not control myself. After that, I did not recognize anything until the boat crashed each other and I felt into the water.

Boonying Lelawadee, one of the witnesses, told that I got on the boat which crashed another one from The Mall Bangkapi port. The driver drove the boat so fast and he sometimes swayed the boat. I always took a look on him all the time but he still drove faster and too dangerous. When the boat was nearly arrive at Asok port, I rang the bell to signal him that I wanted to get off but he still continued driving so fast. Besides, I noticed that every passenger feel upset.

“When he drives the boat pass Asok port, there is another boat on the other side. Suddenly, he drives the boat across through another lane. I have no idea why he did like that. Finally, my boat severely crashed to another one. I bounced over the boat and fell into the extremely dirty water”, she narrated.

After searching for the drowning people, Somchai Meesuk, the head of water rescue team, reported that we have searched seven drowning people who cannot swim and we have already assist fifty-six people who hurt from this accident.
